The seasons are changing and so should your social media plan! As we wave goodbye to summer vacation and welcome fall, there are an abundace of fresh content ideas to help your business stand out this September.

Whether you’re looking to step up your marketing game or boost your engagement rates, here are 10 awesome content ideas to help you get noticed.

1. Fall

While the first day of autumn officially falls (pun intended) on September 22nd, everyone associates the entire month of September with the season. From sweater weather to pumpkin spice and everything nice, it’s definitely a great time of year to switch up your marketing strategy.

For starters, September is the perfect month to clear out your summer merchandise and offer customers an end-of-season sale. What’s more, you could start promoting your new fall collection or seasonal specials.

Get involved in local events, create an Insta-worthy fall store display, hand out fall themed giveaways or promote limited time offers. There are so many creative ways to market your business this season, so why choose just one?!

2. International Day of Charity

Established to encourage people around the world to help others and participate in philanthropic activities, International Day of Charity was chosen to be on September 5th in commemoration of Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s passing.

4. Jewish New Year

Rosh Hashanah takes place on September 6-8 in 2021. It’s the perfect time to celebrate new beginnings and wish your Jewish friends and followers a happy, sweet new year.

When it comes to content, think of Rosh Hashanah as the Jewish New Year. Offer a ‘new year’ sale, a giveaway or even host a contest where the ‘sweetest’ entry wins a prize! Be sure to wish your customers a “Shana Tovah” (good year) for extra brownie points.

Try offering your customers a discount when they arrive with their grandparents, or offer enhanced senior specials to show your gratitude. If you want to truly touch the hearts of your customers who have lost their grandparents, provide an incentive for them to showcase their loved ones with a social media giveaway. Maybe you can even team up with local old age homes to provide a wonderful day to all the grandparents in town.

6. Hispanic Heritage Month

Get ready to…. fiesta! September 15th through October 15th is known as Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrating the incredible contributions of the many Hispanic Americans. During this month, we focus on the culture, history, and diversity of our brothers and sisters from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. 

This month presents an amazing opportunity to engage with your audience, even if they aren’t of Hispanic descent. Try running social media contests with trivia about Hispanic Americans, or even offer your customers a deal when they can name a historically famous Hispanic American. 

Want to do a little more? You can highlight specific Hisapnic Americans who have contributed to the history of your industry, or even your local community!

Have you been aching for football since February? We have to! That’s why we are so excited for opening night of the NFL season on September 9th, where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Dallas Cowboys.

The return of football can be really exciting for your business, as it offers so many ways to engage your audience with targeted content. 

If your customers like football, offer them discounts when your home team wins a game. Better yet, you can run a social media giveaway with tickets to a local football game!
