It’s been a crazy year for everyone, especially SMBs. With the Covid-19 pandemic putting so many businesses out of work, we felt like we needed to actively do more.

That’s why late last year we, at Promo.com, decided that we wanted to get more in touch with our customers. Our mission: to guide and mentor our users on a deeper, more personal level.

And what better way to do that than by launching a Promo Facebook community dedicated to our users around the world?

In our ‘Promo People (Inside Video Marketing)’ Facebook group, members connect with fellow creators and professionals to bounce ideas off of each other, ask questions and get inspired.

The community is designed to give marketers and creators the opportunity to connect and uplift one another through exchanging feedback, asking for advice, and sharing their recommended tools or resources.

It is also a space where members can communicate and engage freely with the creative team at Promo.com for guidance, inspiration, tips and more.

There are so many amazing members in our community, but today we’re shining a light on 3 ‘Promo People’ superstars. Let’s get started.

Orange Connection, West Africa

First up is Monique Foppele from Orange Connection. Orange Connection is a sales agent for several well-known brands of food products in West Africa, such as Armanti Quality Food. They export various brands of foodstuffs such as mayonnaise, margarine, tomato paste, luncheon meat, sardines, mustard, evaporated milk, flavored milk, coffee, and, well you get the point.

When it comes to advertising, Orange Connection’s clients promote their businesses through commercials on local radio and television as well as through their social media pages. Luckily for them, Promo.com was able to help.

Monique shared that her business first discovered Promo.com on Facebook almost two years ago, and they’ve been using it ever since. 

“Since we have started using Promo the number of people following our pages has doubled. Also, we are getting a lot more views on our videos than when we just post pictures and other posts.” – Monique Foppele

Some of Monique’s favorite aspects about Promo.com are how easy it is to use, the professional results, seamless music choices, customizable captions, and of course, all the different publishing options. She especially loves that Promo.com allows her to create ‘new’ content from previously published videos.

This past holiday season, Monique created a video for her client Armanti Quality Food and shared it our Promo Facebook community. According to Monique, this video attracted a lot of positive feedback from Armanti’s customers and helped their holiday season marketing strategy succeed. 

Although Covid-19 did have some negative effects on Monique’s business, Promo.com’s rich visual library helped her business perfectly communicate that ‘family and social community feeling’ that they were looking for.


Next, we have Sean Bolger from Wipertech. Wipertech supplies high-performance, durable windshield wiper blades directly to everyday car owners. Based in Melbourne, Australia, they believe that every driver deserves the best wiper blades that money can buy, and are tired of people wasting their time and money on poor quality DIY replacements and pricey dealership alternatives.

In a nutshell, Wipertech makes finding, ordering and installing high-quality windshield wipers for your car simple.

Wipertech primarily advertises through Facebook and Google. Email Marketing is also a big part of their marketing strategy, but they largely drive traffic to their site using Facebook and Google Ads.

Sean explained that Wipertech wanted to incorporate more video into their advertising mix, particularly to help build Facebook audiences, but didn’t like the idea of spending the thousands of dollars and weeks of work that generally go into creating a full production video. Using Promo.com meant that their current team would be able to consistently produce video ad content quickly and professionally. Wipertech started using Promo.com in early 2020, and hasn’t looked back since.

Wipertech has successfully created over 50 videos and GIFs with Promo.com to date, which they have used in their Facebook ads and email campaigns. This fun video got tons of engagement and even helped spread some holiday cheer during these uncertain times. 

Although Wipertech did need to make some adjustments and realign their priorities for 2020/21 due to the pandemic, they were able to adjust fairly quickly to remote work and ride the waves of some pretty intense lockdown periods. Wipertech was fortunate enough to be less affected than many other brick and mortar businesses due to their solid logistics infrastructure and established team. With the help of Promo.com, their 2020 holiday campaign actually exceeded all expectations.

Global Property Systems, United States

Last but not least, is our community member Vanessa Saunders from Global Property Systems (GPS). GPS is a boutique marketing agency / real estate brokerage and was the first Cloud-Based brokerage on the East Coast of the USA. Their Realtors (Agents) all work from home, in the neighborhoods that they service.

The big difference between GPS and a traditional real estate brokerage is that all of their marketing is done by their own team of professionals, and Promo.com is a key tool in all of their property, locale, and blogging efforts.

Vanessa shared that GPS does all of its advertising on social media and does not use any sort of paid advertising. She also shared that GPS incorporates a lot of videos into their marketing strategy and Promo.com has made it super easy for them to do so. GPS decided to start using Promo.com a few years ago because of the ease of uploading their own content and footage into ready-made templates and the amazing customer service.
